Here are some misc scans – it appears to be the cooking and kitchen section of the April 1917 issue of The Modern Priscilla… being a terrible cook and uninterested in cooking, I didn’t bother to read any of these articles, and barely looked at the vintage ads for Quaker Oats, Boss Ovens, and Cocoa. [...]
I found these old turn of the century wedding photos especially fascinating, especially the girl in the black wedding dress that looks quite corseted. I wish I knew more about turn of the century fashions, because I am guessing that the black would be from the 1890s and the white dresses from more about 1910s? [...]
I can imagine this World War 2 era couple having a nice week or two of bliss together, perhaps they got married while he was on leave, and taking a break to go swimming in the hot summer weather of wherever they were at. Maybe it was July when these pictures were taken in 1944!
These slide scans are of the same husband and wife from the old kodaslides dated 1944. They look like a very happy couple, don’t you think?
I imagine this couple getting this car as a gift, or the husband giving it to his wife before he leaves back to fighting overseas. Admittedly, history wasn’t my strongest subject. Below are the slides I scanned:
