1920s St. Louis Fashion Advertisements

Here are two more vintage advertisements from the 1924 St. Louis Fashion Pageant. The first is for Schwarz & Wild, with a salesroom at 1508 Washington Ave, St. Louis MO. They apparently specialized in “one price only” $3.75  dresses made of Crepes deChine, Taffetas, Messalines, Satin de Chine, Foulards, Susquehanna’s, Poplins, Poiret Twills, and other kinds of fabrics that you don’t often hear about anymore! In their seventh floor salon, presumably in the same building (now known as the “Ely Walker Building”), was Ely & Walker Wholesalers & Manufacturers, showcasing the latest modes of coats, suits, dresses, and sports attire. The fashion illustrations on this page were lovely 1920s gals, dressed most fashionably.
