This was such a fun photography workshop to organize with Joann of Clean Cut Creations Vintage Auto Repair. I have always wanted to put together a “shoot out” event, after having attended several on the coasts. The fact that we chose a vintage theme and were able to round up some classic cars, made things extra awesome.
I provided all the authentic vintage dresses, hats and wardrobe, I applied all the period styled makeup on the models, and guided their hair styles.

Old Dodge Automobile Ads

Here are some old ads for Dodge cars, including the Senior Coupe of c. 1929 (that cost only $880). The second page is an ad for Dodge Brothers of Canada (Walkerville Ontario), and shows children playing in the snow. The last page are cuttings of various unnamed 1920s Dodge cars. I’ve included more detailed crops of these old ads, too.

Pinups on billboards, book covers, and record covers.

Here’s an interesting history of pinups in advertising! Showing pictures of billboards from the 1800s-1950s, with a focus on pretty girls in beer advertisements.

The next page shows samples of pretty women used to advertise books and, the latest thing, record album covers. Even classical music “moves off the shelves” faster when an attractive woman is pictured on it!
