St. Louis Pinup

Simple Retro Headshots

Sometimes the vintage styled makeup and hair, along with a little color editing, can make all the difference in pulling a shoot together! The model pulled out her gun at the end of the shoot and posed with it. I think these retro pictures turned out best in black and white.

Modern Cheesecake Pinup Photography

If you’re shooting silly lighthearted CheeseCake Pinup photography, the expressions are what make the pictures pop!

I recently discovered these cute pinup pics that I shot a few years ago…

1940s Style Pinup

This 1940s dress was such fun to photograph! It has red buttons down the front and an abstract polka dot pattern. I put a smart black hat on the model. Like many dresses of the era, it was unlined and meant to be worn over a slip or under=dress. We borrowed a rolling red wooden storage box as the only prop with this simple set. I love the model’s exaggerated “cheesecake pinup” expressions! She did her own makeup and hair, too.

Ghost Photos

Happy Spooky Saturday, and hope everyone had a great Halloween! While I was posting model Linzy Anna’s ghostly garage photos, I came across all the other “ghost” pictures that I’ve shot. This is a special photographic technique, with no photoshop being used to make the transparency. It’s difficult to direct models on posing, but most people usually get it after a few tries, and the result is worth all the hard work. Because of the special lighting I use, I need at least 1 or 2 other assistants… so it’s quite labor intensive!

Spooky Double Exposure Ghost Photos in the Garage

I love shooting double exposures in spooky settings such as this mechanic shop! Linzy Anna is styled WWII period in an authentic, vintage 1940s, cotton side zipping blue dress. She looks like the ghost of a girl, coming back to haunt the 1950s car that she tragically died in.

Here are more never posted pinup and retro styled pics with vintage cars from my shoot a few years ago with St. Louis model June Ann. She wore her own vintage inspired wardrobe and did her own pinup styled makeup and hair. I am awful at identifying cars and car years, except what I can read on the side of a car, so feel free to comment what kinds of cars she’s posed with 🙂

Rebekah Liegh Pinup Pics

The red skirt, shoes, and matching blouse and accessories in these pinup pictures really pops against the drab background. St. Louis pinup model Rebekah Leigh is wearing her own wardrobe and did her own hair and makeup. This set is from a few years ago, and I realized that I never posted any of these pictures…

This was such a cute pinup photo set to shoot of Dixie! I filled her arms with old Famous Barr hat boxes, and we strolled down South Broadway and pretended to shop. We stopped in doorways and wherever inspiration took us. Needless to say, we got lots of attention from passersby!
