More about this Item
If Barbie went to an art gallery opening in 1969, she would wear this. Sourced from the estate of a brilliant, petite scientist who curated her wardrobe in the mid-century, this dress breaks the mold of the traditional “stiff” Cheongsam.
The fabric is a lightweight vintage polyester knit with a distinct texture and—best of all—mechanical stretch. This makes it significantly more comfortable and forgiving than the traditional silk or brocade versions. The pattern is a bold, graphic horizontal stripe in electric hot pink and black, giving it a fantastic Mod or Pop Art aesthetic.
It features the classic high Mandarin collar, an asymmetrical bodice that closes with snaps, and a vintage metal side zipper. It is unlined and lightweight. This is a dress for someone who wants to make a statement without sacrificing comfort.
Condition Excellent Vintage Condition. The colors are vibrant and sharp. The knit retains its shape. No pulls or stains noted.
Sizing & Fit This is a Petite XS. However, because the fabric is a knit, it has some “give” (stretch) that the others do not.
Modern Size Estimate: US 0 / 2 (Petite)

Style Notes Lean into the Mod vibe. Style this with black tights and ankle boots for a 60s London look, or wear it with strappy black heels for a fun cocktail event.
