Finding true vintage clothing in modern plus sizes is like finding a needle in a haystack—and this dress is a golden needle. Dating from the early 1960s, this chic shift dress combines mid-century modesty with a playful print.

The fabric appears to be Raw Silk (Silk Noil), featuring that beautiful nubby, textured finish that breathes well and looks expensive. The deep navy blue is scattered with classic white polka dots. The silhouette is an easy-to-wear “pullover” style with no zippers or buttons to fuss with—just slip it on and go. It features a flattering V-neckline and short sleeves, fully lined for a smooth drape.

Condition Report: She is in Good Vintage Condition and presents beautifully on the outside.

  • Exterior: The outer fabric is sturdy, vibrant, and clean with no holes or stains found.

  • Interior: The lining has done its job of protecting the dress! There is noticeable discoloration/soiling around the inner neckline (likely vintage makeup/foundation) and a small separation/tear in the lining fabric near the side seam.

  • Recommendation: Because of the lining soiling and the delicate nature of raw silk, we strongly recommend Professional Dry Cleaning upon arrival. The lining tear is currently stable but may eventually need a simple stitch mend.

Sizing: A rare vintage Plus Size! Based on measurements, this fits like a modern XL or 1X (US 16/18). It has bust darts for shape but is meant to have a relaxed fit.
